Late/Absence Procedures
ABSENCE FROM SCHOOL
If your child is not able to come into school you must inform us by ringing the office before 9.00am. Please note that this is your responsibility and helps us with our safeguarding obligations. If we are not informed about your child’s absence it is recorded as unauthorised and this has an impact on the child’s attendance record.
Every day missed is a learning opportunity wasted!
COVID
Please find below the updated guidance regarding Coronavirus testing and results. Please let the school office know as soon as you have the result, whether negative or positive, and ensure that children are not brought into school if they have tested positive until their isolation period has ended.
PUNCTUALITY
Please can you help us to achieve 100% punctuality? We need to see ALL pupils in school ON TIME.
Nursery door is open at 8.45am and doors open at 8.50am for main school.
Punctuality is a skill that is vital for success in life and it is important to value and develop this skill from an early age. Being on time is just as important as being in school. There is no reason why pupils should be persistently late. Not only does it impact on the office staff, it affects pupils’ progress as they miss out on valuable learning opportunities, it affects their whole day as they are often embarrassed coming in late and it compromises the learning of the whole class. Please help your child to be on time every day.
We cannot emphasise enough how important it is to be in school ON TIME. You will receive a letter to discuss punctuality with our Family Support Worker or Mrs McGrow if lateness persists. Thank you in advance for your co-operation.
SICKNESS AND DIARRHOEA
If your child is vomiting or has sickness and diarrhoea please note that they must stay off school for 48 hours in order to protect others at school.
